In the early part of 2025, Action Ridge members called and emailed their representatives many time surging them to pass Karina's Law. On Feb. 10, 2025, Governor Pritzker signed it into law. Action Ridge also contacted their lawmakers and helped to get HB 1085 and SP55, the Mental Health Parity Act passed and signed into law on Dec. 15, 2025, by Governor Pritzker. This legislation will help strengthen access to behavioral health care for Illinoisans with state-regulated private insurance. We are making some headway on HB3320, The RIFL Act. With new representation in the 55th district of the house, Rep. Justin Cochran co-sponsored the bill on Jan. 20, 2026. Hopefully, we will be successful in getting this passed and signed into law also!
