Meeting Date: November 19, 2025
Location of meeting: Via Zoom
Time meeting was called to order: 7:04pm
Attendees: Kristin Berg, Nan Parson, Marilyn Novak, Kate Kerin, Kathy Rolsing
1) Housing Plan
a) Housing Plan Implementation
i. Kristin, Nan, and Melani met with Mayor Maloney. While we are happy to see that Director Awsumb has a plan, we believe city staff will be challenged to accomplish the goal of having new ordinances relating to the Housing Plan in place by next spring in addition to working on the Comprehensive Plan. The mayor was unsure if a temporary task force would be helpful and wants to discuss further with Director Awsumb. If a task force is established, we believe that it must have a clear, well-defined mission in order to be successful.
i. Kristin and Melani met with Caroline Goldstein, who is a member of the Wilmette Housing Commission. The Commission is charged with creating a plan to implement their AH Plan. City Staff will have the benefit of a separate body working on policies and possible ordinances to recommend to the city and eventually their elected officials.
b) Monitor City Council/COW agendas for any Housing Plan discussions/actions/proposed multifamily and senior housing development
i. No new discussions in November
ii. A discussion of the PUD Public Benefit list is up for discussion sometime in Q4 at the COW Meeting
c) Monitor PZC Agendas for any Housing Plan discussions/actions/ proposed multifamily and senior housing development
i. Both the October 28th and November 11th meetings were cancelled, so no progress was made. The next meeting is on December 9th.
2) Comprehensive Plan
a) The first Public Workshop was held on November13th. Residents were asked to give their comments on a few topics such as: “What do you love about Park Ridge” and “What major project would you like to see to help improve Park Ridge” and “What are your biggest concerns about Park Ridge.” There is a website dedicated to the Comp Plan now at
https://park-ridge-il-comprehensive-plan-hlplanning.hub.arcgis.com/
There is a mapping tool on the website that lets you comment on individual sites in Park Ridge that might need attention or that you have ideas about what it should be used for. There will be a Community Survey coming out too.
3) Kathy reported that the Center of Concern is applying for 2 grants to boost the Home-Sharing Program that was so successful in the past.
4) Time meeting adjourned: 8:05pm
5) The next meeting will be on Monday, 1/19 at 7:00pm on Zoom
